Pictures at an exhibition is a famous musical suite of fifteen pieces that Mússorgski composed to pay tribute to the architect, draftsman and amateur painter Viktor Hartmann, who was a close friend of his. The score is inspired by the posthumous exhibition of Hartmann's works at the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg. Playing with new technologies and contemporary aesthetics, the suggestive show created by Roser Muñoz and Joan Boix adopts a museum guided tour format we experience trough virtual reality glasses. The use of video projections, with real images and animations together with the irruption of characters that come out of the screen to dance on stage, bring magic and emotion to a creation that lets children enter the fascinating world of ballet. The Dance Center of Catalonia is already a reference in classical dance teaching in our country. Roser Muñoz and Joan Boix, first dancers in international companies during two decades, thus transmit to their students the respect and love that dance gifts us together with the rigor with which the shows are prepared until the smallest detail.
